Nicky Banger, CEO of The Knights Foundation visited New Forest School to unveil the donation of a foosball table, whilst there he was able to look at the work the school does and how the staff team use a wide variety of resources to help support the students.
New Forest School is an independent specialist provider of education on the edge of the New Forest, Hampshire for students aged 8-19 who have a range of severe or complex needs arising from life trauma, Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC), attachment disorder or a phobia of education.
The donation of a Foosball table will help students with developing their social interaction skills and support them in overcoming their anxieties. The school have raised money for the foundation on several occasions over the past few years, with both students and staff getting involved in activities to raise money through their curriculum.
"It was an absolute pleasure to meet Nicky, and to listen to his ideas about supporting his local community. We are very grateful for the donation of the foosball table, which will be a valuable resource when supporting our students" John Murphy, Head of School.
Alongside this, the pupils of New Forest School took part in a mini project, which delved into the social side of the charity. The project which involved a series of tasks required the students to research the subject, complete surveys and plan an event, they then presented this to Nicky who chose the best 3, who all received a gift voucher and certificate.
